The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup is the first series of its kind in the United States. Patterned after the popular Polo Cup series in Germany The VW Jetta TDI Cup is a true "Green" racing series. The Volkswagen Jettas used in the series utilize the cleanest burning 4 cylinder turbo diesel engines ever produced. The TDI engine has 170 horse power and develops 258 foot pounds of torque. The street version of the VW Jetta is almost 100% recyclable illustrating Volkswagen's commitment to the environment. Sanctioned by the SCCA the 2009 series will include 10 races at some of the most famous road course circuits in North America.
